Privacy Policy

Your documents stay on your phone.

This policy explains what DocuStudio does with your information. The short version: every scan, edit and conversion happens on your device. The internet is used only for ads, crash reports, app settings and purchases, never for your files.

Last updated: October 13, 2026 Effective: October 13, 2026 App version: v1.0.5

1. Summary

Stays on your device

  • Your PDFs, scans, photos and the files you create
  • File names, document text and anything OCR reads
  • Your saved signatures and PDF passwords
  • Your history, settings and achievements

Sent to service providers

  • Usage events (for example "Compress used") and crash reports, to Google Firebase
  • Advertising ID and device data needed to show ads, to Google AdMob (free version)
  • Purchase records, to Google Play and RevenueCat (only if you buy Pro)

DocuStudio has no account system. We never ask for your name, email or phone number, and we don't run servers that receive your documents.

2. Who we are

DocuStudio ("the app"), published on Google Play as PDF Scanner & Toolkit Offline with the package name com.pdfscanner.editor.tools, is developed by Tech Enforcers ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the limited information described here. You can reach us at techenforcersofficial@gmail.com.

This policy covers the Android app and this website. The website uses no cookies and no analytics. It remembers your light/dark theme choice in your own browser, loads its font from Google Fonts, and its host (Vercel) keeps standard server logs such as IP addresses for security.

3. Your documents and files

Every PDF tool runs on your phone. Merging, splitting, compressing, signing, filling forms, watermarking, redacting, OCR, encryption and every other tool process your file locally. Your documents are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

How the app gets your files

The app has no storage permission. It can only open a file that you choose in the Android file picker or share to it from another app, and only that file.

Where your files are kept

  • Results and scans are saved in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read. They are listed in History.
  • Saved signatures are stored as images in the app's private storage. You can delete them from the Sign tool.
  • History keeps a reference to each file, the tool used and the date. It does not contain document content.
  • Temporary copies made while a tool runs are kept in the app's cache and removed by the app or by Android.
  • The app's data is excluded from Google cloud backup, so your files are not copied to Google Drive.

When a file leaves your phone

Only when you choose to: when you tap Save (the file is written where you pick) or Share (the file is handed to the app you pick, such as email or a chat app). What happens after that is covered by that app's privacy policy.

Passwords

Passwords you type to lock, unlock or open a PDF are used once on your device and are not stored or sent anywhere. We can't recover a forgotten PDF password.

4. Document scanner and text recognition

The document scanner is Google ML Kit Document Scanner, provided by Google Play services. The camera screen is run by Google Play services, which is why DocuStudio itself has no camera permission. Edge detection, cropping and clean-up run on your device, and the finished scan is handed back to the app.

The OCR tool uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition, which reads text on your device. It supports Latin-script languages such as English, Spanish, French and German.

Google Play services may download these components the first time they are needed. Google states that ML Kit processes images on the device and doesn't send them to Google. ML Kit may contact Google to get updates and send Google basic usage and performance metrics. See the ML Kit terms and Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data collected automatically

To keep the app stable, understand which features are useful, show ads and handle purchases, the app uses the services below. None of them receive your documents, file names or document text.

ServiceWhat it receivesWhy
Google Analytics for Firebase App activity events: screens viewed, which tool was used and where you opened it from, how long it took, the size range of the files and the output, page or file counts, the type of error if a tool fails, whether you shared or saved a result, how you respond to Pro offers, ads and the plans screen (including the plan you pick), the star rating you choose in the rating prompt, the length (never the text) of a tool search, and settings changes. Also an app instance ID, device model, Android version, language, app version, approximate location (country/region, derived from IP address) and, where available, the Advertising ID. Understanding feature use and improving the app
Firebase Crashlytics Crash reports, reports of moments when the app froze, and reports of errors when a tool fails (the technical error only, never the file or its name): stack traces, a list of the screens and actions just before the problem, device model, Android version, memory and disk state, app version, and a Crashlytics installation ID. Finding and fixing bugs
Firebase Remote Config A Firebase installation ID, app version, language and country. Turning features and ad settings on or off without an update
Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform (free version) Advertising ID or app set ID, IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, and on supported Android versions, Privacy Sandbox signals (Topics and Attribution). Your consent choices, where consent is required. Showing ads, measuring them, preventing ad fraud, and asking for and storing consent
Google Play Billing and RevenueCat A random anonymous customer ID, purchase token, product, price, currency, purchase dates, store country and basic device information. Processing and restoring Pro purchases

The app does not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos library, precise location, or any document content.

If you choose to email us, for example from Settings › Rate Us › Email us your feedback, your own email app sends the message. We then receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply to you.

6. Ads and consent

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob: native ads, full-screen ads between actions and when you return to the app, and optional rewarded ads that unlock a premium tool for one use. Pro removes all ads.

  • EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any personalized ads, the app shows Google's consent form. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Manage Privacy.
  • Everywhere: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your phone's settings (Settings › Google › Ads on most devices, or Settings › Privacy › Ads).

Learn more in How Google uses information from apps that use its services.

7. Purchases (DocuStudio Pro)

Pro is available as a weekly or monthly subscription, which may start with a free trial, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card or bank details.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Use Restore Purchase in the app to restore Pro on a new phone signed in to the same Google account.

RevenueCat, our purchase management provider, receives the purchase details listed above. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

8. App permissions

DocuStudio does not ask for camera, storage, location, contacts, microphone or notification permissions. These are the permissions it declares:

PermissionUsed for
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATEAds, crash reports, analytics, app settings and purchases. Not used for documents.
com.android.vending.BILLINGBuying Pro through Google Play.
AD_ID and Privacy Sandbox ad services (ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, …_ATTRIBUTION, …_TOPICS)Ads and ad measurement in the free version, subject to your consent and device settings.
BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICELets Google Play tell the app how it was installed (for example from an ad), for install attribution.
WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICEAdded by Google libraries so background tasks, such as sending a crash report, can finish.
VIBRATEShort haptic feedback when you tap buttons and finish a task.

9. How we use data, and our legal bases

  • Providing the app and purchases: performing our contract with you.
  • Crash reports and app stability: our legitimate interest in a reliable app.
  • Usage analytics: our legitimate interest in improving features, and consent where the law requires it.
  • Personalized ads: your consent where required (EEA, UK, Switzerland); otherwise our legitimate interest in funding the free version. Non-personalized ads may still use data for frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention.

10. Sharing

We don't sell your personal information and we don't share your documents with anyone. The data described in section 5 is processed by Google and RevenueCat as service providers, under their own privacy policies. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Under some US state laws, using the Advertising ID for personalized ads can count as "sharing". You can opt out by deleting or resetting your Advertising ID, or by turning off ad personalization in your phone's settings.

11. Retention and deletion

  • On your phone: your files, history and signatures stay until you delete them. Delete single items or a whole tab in History, delete signatures in the Sign tool, or turn on Auto-Delete in Settings to remove history entries older than 7, 30 or 90 days. Uninstalling the app deletes everything in its private storage. Copies you saved elsewhere, such as in Downloads, stay until you delete them.
  • Crashlytics: crash reports are kept for 90 days.
  • Google Analytics: event data is kept for at most 14 months.
  • AdMob: kept according to Google's retention policies.
  • Purchases: kept by Google Play and RevenueCat for as long as needed to provide Pro and meet tax and accounting obligations.

Because we have no accounts, we usually can't link analytics or crash data to you personally. If you'd like us to try to delete it, email us and we'll do what we reasonably can within 30 days.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.

To use them, email techenforcersofficial@gmail.com. For ad consent, use Settings › Manage Privacy in the app (shown where required) or your phone's ad settings.

13. Children

DocuStudio is a general productivity app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and data was collected, contact us and we'll help remove it.

14. Security

  • Documents are processed and stored in Android's app sandbox, which other apps can't access.
  • The Protect tool encrypts PDFs with AES-256 (or AES-128 if you choose it for older readers).
  • Information sent to Google and RevenueCat travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • We don't keep a server copy of your documents, so there is no copy of them to leak.

No method is perfectly secure, so keep your phone locked and its software up to date.

15. International transfers

Google and RevenueCat may process the data described in section 5 in the United States and other countries. They use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.

16. Changes to this policy

When the app changes how it handles data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. For significant changes we'll also tell you in the app or in the Google Play release notes.
